Last month I shared that all of us at ACTO have a huge opportunity to shape our thinking for the future of coach education together. ACTO is YOUR coach training organization and the Board of Directors and committee chairs want to continue to serve you in support of ACTO’s mission:
We cultivate best practices and integrity in coach training through connection, collaboration, exploration and joy.
On June 8-10, 2020 ACTO members and colleagues will come together for a conference FILLED with connection, collaboration, exploration and joy as we Reimagine Coach Education! One conference tidbit to share with you is that we are adding in TWO facilitated Learning Circles each day for debriefing sessions, sharing idea and asking questions on topics of importance to you. Attendees from our last conference asked for this and we heard you. All of the conference details are on the ACTO website and we will have our speaker lineup ready in March. PLEASE JOIN US!
Continuing our year of reimagining ACTO and integrating best practices, the ACTO Board of Directors met on February 24, 2020 and took steps to revise the ACTO board position terms and the election process. The following changes were voted on and adopted.
President, Secretary and Treasurer: Two-year term (retroactive to 2019)
President-Elect: One-year term following one year on the ACTO Board
Immediate Past President: One-year Advisory Role
At-Large Board Members: Two-year terms for up to 3 terms
- The Nominating Committee will begin the process of accepting nominations for the At-Large Board members annually in late March.
- All Individual members and member organizations will receive an electronic ballot annually in April to vote for a proposed slate of new officers and board members. The new board will be introduced at the ACTO Conference in June.
We have created a new Board Development Committee that will, as their first task, develop criteria for prospective board members for board review and approval. Please watch for a separate announcement with details in your email and start thinking about who you might nominate to be on the next ACTO Board.
As many of my faculty and colleagues can confirm, I am a bottom liner by nature. In that vein, I have chosen to keep this February newsletter short and to the point. My goal is to provide valuable, up-to-date information for you and your organization. Interested in a different topic or want more of what is here? Email me at president@actoonline.org.
With gratitude,
Jodi
President and 2020 Conference Co-chair
