Supervision and Mentoring: Merging the What, How and the WhoEliana Dutra and Silvina Spiegel

As coaching teachers, when we learn to merge both functions: Mentor and Supervisor, we accelerate the development of the coach-student, supporting self-reflection in all dimensions: self-awareness + mindset + coaching skills. Silvina Spiegel (PCC) and I, Eliana Dutra (first MCC in South America – 2004) have been proving the effectiveness of this approach since 2016 – in the MAGISTERE (ACTP program) – more than 110 coach-students.

  • Participants will learn how to use a new “supervising-mentor” approach to leverage the coach-student’s learning in relation to their coaching skills
  • Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on how this new approach makes it easier for them to notice and overcome their own biases
  • Participants will see a demonstration and then practice the new “supervising-mentor” approach using a tool that features the great monsters that live within all of us and frighten and prevent the coach from doing the best coaching as they know they can do.
