Hello ACTO Community,

A lot of new members have joined us lately. We love to see the community growing!

For this reason, we thought it would be a great time to provide a tour of the best features and benefits of ACTO, and where to find them.

The ACTO Stand

Many folks have shared that this bold statement is the reason they joined and what keeps them committed. For them, it represents the difference between ACTO and other coaching organizations. It’s important to us that people feel like they have a place they belong. The Stand is under the About ACTO tab on the website. Here’s a link:

Community Conversations calls

These monthly calls are always the first Thursday of the month, from 12-1pm Eastern. People on the call are asked to do an introduction of themselves, usually naming aspects of their identity that are important to them. People can share whatever topic or thought is top of mind. The calls are not structured, conversations are just always about the multicultural context of coaching. And there are ALWAYS pearls to takeaway. Our community is smart!

ACTO Forums

These monthly calls are awesome and offered in both English and Spanish. In English they are 90min long and are always the fourth Wednesday of the month, from 11-12:30pm Eastern. In Spanish, they are 60 min long and are always the third Wednesday of the month at 3pm CET (Spain). There is a different speaker every month, and each call is worth 1.5 CCEU (English) and 1.0 CCEU (Spanish).. They are educational, and there is usually Q&A and conversation with the participants on the call. The topics are all vetted to ensure they have a relationship to Social Justice, diversity, equity, inclusion or belonging.

More information is under the Learn/Grow tab on the website.

ACTO Conference

There is an annual conference, and since 2020, they have been virtual. We love the accessibility of this modality. We also typically offer a pay-what-you-can category (like this year!) to further increase global accessibility. The theme is in the realm of Social Justice, diversity, equity, inclusion or belonging. This year, the theme is: Humans First: Embedding Social Identity Differences in Coaching & Coach Training. There have been many qualities of my first ACTO Conference experience that have continued. The lack of posturing and the true sense of community have carried on.

Newsletter

There is a monthly newsletter for members and others. This “Letter from the Board” is an evolution from the “Letter from the President” as we move to a collective style of leadership. This letter, and the newsletter as a whole, are intended to give you a peek inside what is happening inside your organization at ACTO. There are opportunities to advertise and write articles in the Newsletter as well. The Resource of the Month, provided each month in the newsletter, is a treasure trove of resources and tools, highlighting at least one aspect of identity. Archives of past issues of the newsletter are available back to 2019 on the website under the News tab at: https://actoonline.org/newsletter-archives/

Enjoy all these benefits and more!

If you want to become a member, the rate is $100/yr for individual members and $325/yr for organizational membership (includes 7 memberships). For more info, or to join, go to: https://actoonline.org/membership-categories-fees/
