Many clients with ADHD struggle with the invisible challenges of their inattention, impulsivity and excessive  physical/cognitive hyperactivity. Adult ADHD represents 4-6 percent of the world’s population and 85% are undiagnosed. Research has revealed 80% of these adults feel hopeless in managing the invisible, impairing challenges which  significantly affect the quality of their lives.  This frequently manifests in their inability to take action in their lives  by activating their brains so they can pay attention to what they want to get done and sustaining their focus and energy long enough to complete important goals.  They  frequently have a difficult time regulating their emotions and impulsively react negatively to situations where they have not paused long enough to discern their best   options.  Well-trained ADHD coaches understand ADHD. They know how to educate, energize and empower their clients to understand the special gifts of their unique brain wiring so they can leverage them to create daily progress and a sense of accomplishment in their lives.

David will present an overview of what ADHD really is, and how the coaching process empowers individuals with ADHD to utilize their unique brain wiring  to create their own brand of success, fulfillment and joy.

  • How the ICF competencies of Building Trust and Intimacy, Coaching Presence, Active Listening, Powerful Questioning, Direct Communication and Designing Actions  differ in ADHD Coaching than Life Coaching.
  • How the “Power of the Pause” can significantly improve a client’s ability to effectively manage their impulsivity, strengthen their emotional intelligence and self- regulation so they can co-create customized plans (Planning Goals, Designing Actions)that successfully work the way their unique brain wiring  works.
  • A case study that demonstrates how the ADHD Coaching process  integrates coaching models supported by recent neuroscience, creative coaching strategies, the VIA Character Strengths and the ICF coaching competencies  to empower clients with ADHD to embrace their unique brain wiring  and create more successful, joyful, fulfilling lives.
