As coaches we ‘Dance In the Moment’, but what happens when we prefer our movements to be like a ballet or waltz and a client prefers a salsa or dabke; and we don’t even recognize their steps?”

Cultural intelligence (CI) and cultural dexterity are key coaching skills for working with our 21st century clients. CI is the capability to engage effectively in a variety of cultural contexts. CI goes beyond national, ethnic, gender and generational values. In reality, we are all diverse in multidimensional ways.

This interactive session will move the conversation from outcomes of the 2014 ACTO conference toward actionable steps and resources that coach training organizations can take to begin to incorporate cultural competency into their programs.

Registrants will receive a brief pre-session assignment to enhance their webinar experience.

The webinar will cover the following topics

  1. Cultural Intelligence in Coaching: Cultural Dexterity Model™ – The stages of cultural intelligence mastery – CULTURES™ Coaching Framework – a GPS
  2. Connecting Cultural Intelligence with the ICF Core Competencies: An overview and with deeper look at 3 key competencies
  3. Starting to Off on the Right Foot: A sample discovery session
  4. Recruiting Multicultural Students: A brief discussion
