The Inspired Learning Model’s™ 100% positive feedback is very specific feedback.

First, the coach trainer must know the competencies of their specific subject matter (in our case the ICF Core Competencies and the competencies of your school’s coaching model) and further must be able to recognize the competency when demonstrated by different personalities or styles.

Secondly, the facilitator of learning (trainer, teacher, educator, or mentor-coach) is required to use several ICF Core Competencies:

1) Active Listening

a) Attends to the client and the client’s agenda, and not to the coach’s agenda for the client (the student’s/learner’s agenda is to learn and master the mind-set and skill-set of professional coaching; and to do so in the most effective manner.)

The coach trainer is listening for when the learner correctly demonstrates one or more of the 69 sub-competencies.

2) Creating Awareness

a) Identifies major strengths vs. major areas for learning and growth, and what is most important to address during coaching (the coach trainer focuses on the student’s/learner’s strengths rather than their weaknesses.)

3) Managing Progress and Accountability

a) Acknowledges the client for what they have done, not done, learned or become aware of since the previous coaching session(s) (the coach trainer acknowledges the student’s/learner’s demonstrated understanding or action that is congruent with a specific core coaching competency.)

This 100% positive feedback methodology has been proven to accelerate learning, awareness and results in coach training, coach certification and in many other learning environments. To name a few: Corporate Training, Higher Education, Public Education, Adult Literacy, and even in Parent/Child learning.
