Please join us to explore how we can make a commitment and act to continuously enhance our capacity to coach in diverse workplaces. This experiential workshop will include:

  • Enhance Awareness by delving into some of what has shaped our personal perspectives on race and other aspects of diversity.
  • Explore what may impact our use of self and presence as we work with diverse clients to support their work as leaders and colleagues in increasingly diverse environments.
    • Attune to the physical process taking place within our bodies as we engage with clients in conversations about race and other aspects of diversity.
    • Develop strategies to work with our physical process and our clients’ physical process to remain centered and present.
  • Consider what will most create safety in sensitive, diversity-related coaching conversations for clients. How do we cultivate a judgment-free space?
  • Explore how deeper levels of listening may uncover hidden aspects of diversity, equity and inclusion.

Initial framing will introduce Gestalt-oriented concepts of presence and use of self.

We will develop skills through a case study approach. Please come prepared to actively participate in case experiments.

Sally Colella brings positive energy and an engaging spirit to her coaching work with individuals and groups.

A core practice for herself and clients is expanding awareness about how we show up at work and how our presence either supports or undermines cultures that are equitable and feel inclusive to others.

She works with clients to enhance their self-awareness AND become more curious about listening deeply to and building understanding differing points of view.

Sally is member of the “Undoing Racism” coaching group and is currently co-facilitator of the Montgomery County, Maryland Coming To The Table Chapter.

Prior to beginning her independent coaching practice in 2006, she was Director of Culture Change at Fannie Mae and Managing Director of Training and Development for the National Cooperative Bank (NCB). She has been directly involved in facilitating and leading Diversity and Inclusion projects since her work at The Washington Post in 2000.

Select clients include: The World Bank, The Carlyle Group, Enterprise Community Development and Capital Impact Partners.
