FINAL Message from the Board

A Chapter Ends

On June 24, 2026, the sun officially set on ACTO.

At a gathering that included dozens of current and past members and board members – including two of our founders! — we celebrated the achievements, accomplishments, and impacts of our two decades of existence, most especially our impact on the conversation around diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the coaching profession.

A special shout out to Peter Reding, one of the founding members and one of the signatories to our official Articles of Incorporation. He was on the call, and after we closed the meeting, he hung out for a few more minutes, saying, “I was there at the beginning, and I’m going to be here till the last minute!” Thank you, Peter, for your passion and your vision. Thank you to all the founders of this organization who enabled the great work we did over the past two decades.

A Reminder of our Value Proposition

Near the end of the meeting we introduced a special video we created to post on our website and all our SM accounts as a reminder of what ACTO represented. We invite you to view this short video and challenge you to continue to carry the energy of inclusion into the future of coaching. (if the video does not launch, visit ACTOonline.org)

Harvest Learning

Our last three conferences and our last few years of Forums have included speakers from all over the world and much rich, deep conversation. We’ve removed all membership requirements for access to these files and invite you to review and harvest anything you’d like to hang onto for yourself or to share with students and colleagues. These archives will disappear in December. See the ACTO home page for access information.

Grace and Dignity

When we announced this difficult decision in January 2026, we proclaimed that our goal was to sunset the organization with grace and dignity. We appreciate all the words of support you have offered us across the past six months, and especially we appreciate all of you who contributed to the GoFundMe that is allowing us to close the chapter debt-free. We believe we accomplished our goal, and now we will move to our next chapter.

May you keep the spirit of ACTO and the power of The Stand alive in your heart and in your coaching conversations!
